Please see the below image for a layout of the VPK Classroom.  Take notice that the block area and dramatic play area are close to each other.  The room is divided by low level shelves for optimal supervision.  Tables are near each other for family style eating.  The sink is located next to the art area, sensory table, and science center.  Cozy area and library is away from the noisy centers.  The room is set up for traffic to flow without interupting the children engaged in the centers.  Higher storage areas and cubbies are located on the outside walls, so they do not obstruct supervision.
