My Philosophy

Early Childhood Education is crucial for the growth and development of the young child.  It is where the foundation for learning begins.  It is my philosophy that children learn by engaging in rich hands on activities that are meaningful and enjoyable.  The children's work is their play.   Children will be encouraged to be creative, and explore the world around them in an age appropriate classroom that is safe and fun!

 

We have three rules in this class! 

We respect our friends- Which means we use kind hands and kind words in our classroom!

We respect ourselves- It is the teacher's duty to make sure that you stay safe at all times.

We respect the school property.  We must take care of our classroom so that is stays a safe, fun learning environment.

 

All children have different abilities and develop at  a different pace.  I will provide each child with age appropriage activities that will be challenging, but not to where the goal is unachievable.  All children will be assessed formally and informally to see what areas they need instruction in.  All data will be shared with the parents via phone conferences, email, letters, and face to face conference.  Communication and parent involvement are two necessary ingredients for a recipe for success. 

 

I have an open door policy for all of the children's parents. Please feel free to come in and visit anytime. I welcome parents to come in and volunteer, and also talk about their family and culture.  Family involvement is so important in our children's education.

Children whose parents are involved do better in school.
